For the completion of my audience research I have decided to create a survey so as to best identify what my target demographic will be expecting to see in my trailer, and for the additional reason so that upon the cinematic version's release, as in the cinema trailers are showcased to a wide variety of people that are interested in different types of films, fans of the social realism genre will, ideally, be able to clearly and distinctly identify that the film product will be one that is appealing directly for them having been made with these viewers in mind.
As I am working in partnership with Zach on my film trailer project we are making use of the same audience research survey so as to best establish their particular requirements and to find out exactly what appeals to and interests them in a Social Realism trailer.
Below is included the audience research survey that both Zach and I will be using to effectively gather information relating to our target demographic.

We plan to conduct our audience research in the style of a Voxpop video so that target audience members give a truthful and honest response to all of the questions put to them in front of a video camera rather than simply allow them to articulate a response in a written format such as would be found in a standard questionnaire. We feel that were we to do this method of gathering a response, target demographic members may supply only the answers they may perceive that we want to hear, rather than supplying us with detailed and accurate information of what they actually think, which to conduct thorough and accurate audience research is vital. The most effective way in which to complete our audience research therefore lies in the creation of a Voxpop video format. Gathering our data in this way will also allow us to experiment with a differing media format from the ones which we have become accustomed to. Creating a Voxpop will also enhance our filming and editing skills to a further degree which can only be a positive thing.
