Old Habits Die Hard
Low Angle Camera shot
of Toby’s feet walking, one shoe sliding in front of the other. He approaches a door. We see one hand, his
right; go for the door handle and a match on action shot of his hand pulling
the door handle down. Cut to: long shot of Toby walking away, hood drawn up
over his face. (In the opening moments of the trailer, be careful not to catch
Toby’s face; the audience should never see his face during these opening shots
of the sequence so as to maintain the mystery surrounding the character’s
anonymity). Cut to another close up shot
of the crest of Toby’s hood, covering his eyes.
Toby Scott: There are times in your life when everything you
worked for goes down. When you’re climbing the Everest of the social class
mountain from the bottom all the way to the top, riding a wave. So you have to
take shortcuts; risks. You don’t choose to do ’em you’re forced into ‘em. They
say you can get addicted to a certain type of madness. A craze. An addiction.
So that one day you wake up and you want it so bad you’d go so fuckin’ hard and
fast to get exactly what you want. Not for pleasure.
Just to survive. To drag yourself out of a shithole and into the light of
normality.
Cut to scene of Marty and Toby
Marty: I thought you were done with this shit bro?
Toby: Yeah, well I was never one to keep my promises. I’m
back in the game.
(Cut to: shot of a
car wheel arch rolling into view.. Thug in a hoodie presses the baseball bat
against the driver’s side window of Toby Cut to close up shot of driver’s feet
reactions. Foot coming up off clutch, going down on accelerator) Sombre music
Then you have to wake up to reality that you ain’t ever
going to get there unless you try hard.
(Montage of car
chases and gun fights)
Vincent: I believe you owe us something my friend
Toby: A long time ago perhaps. Today both you and I know I
don’t owe you shit.
Vincent: You’re correct there. You owe me money!
(Running, chase sequence)
Creegan: Run for your fucking life!
(Toby runs: Release date flickers on to the screen from a
street lamp. Fade to black)
