Audience Profile

For the creation of our film  trailer we decided it would be a good idea to create an ideal target demographic audience member. This is so that throughout the entireity of the creation process of our coursework we are constantly able to refer back to this audience member so we never lose sight of whom we are aiming to target with our products. Although fictitious and a product of our imaginations, the character is based on realistic aspects present within our target demographic such as age, hobbies, interests and outside activities that may perhaps be relevant to members of our own target audience.

Age: 18
Occupation: Part time Pizza Delivery Driver
Education: Studying for three A Level qualifications in, Media Studies, English Language and English Literature
Films: This is England, Trainspotting, Fish Tank, Dead Man's Shoes
Joseph lives in Swindon at home with his parents Dianne and John. He is 18 years of age and is hoping to take a gap year out of education following his A Level results. Further to this, after his gap year has been completed, where he is hoping to experience a wide array of exciting new diverse cultures and countries as well as undertaking voluntary work in The Gambia, he is hoping to go to Cardiff University to undertake a three year degree in English Literature. He is not entirely sure as to where he intends to take his career but is hoping to one day end up in a job to do with writing, as this is fundamentally where his interests have always laid and he sees more to his life than his current part time position as a Pizza Delivery Driver working for Domino's Pizza, a job he has to help pay for his planned gap year.
Joseph's interests in films have always been those of a low budgetary nature, as in his spare time he too makes videos of his own, posting them onto video sharing website YouTube whereupon he offers up his views on matters of headline debate in the form of a video blog. He supports independent Arthouse cinema and is a fan of smaller independent film production companies and is impressed with the high quality of work that they produce for such a limiting budget in comparison with major studios so would also approve of our production company "Indi- Pendent Productions."
Joseph would enjoy watching our film "Old Habits Die Hard" in it's full form, as he has seen many of the genres existing 'big hitters' and I believe that he would be enticed by what he saw in our trailer to come and view the whole film in it's entirety given his previous fascination and fixation with the genre. Given that recreational drug use is as issue within his area this is a topic area that Joseph is familiar with, so I feel that we would be able to connect with our central protagonist with relative ease.
